Harpist, Mrs. Martha E. Painter, performs harp repertoire throughout our region for many special events as a solo artist as well as chamber/orchestra work. Martha has studied harp performance with Jacquelyn Bartlett at Appalachian State University, as well as piano performance and pedagogy under the direction of Dr. Lyn Rice-See at East Tennessee State University.
Martha has performed harp solo for many weddings, receptions, anniversary celebrations, corporate dinners, church services, and other such events. She has performed with Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, ETSU Orchestra, Highland Youth Ensemble, Paramount Center for Arts-Tunes at Noon, and Miss Kingsport Scholarship Pageant.
She is the owner of Studio 101 in Kingsport where she provides music instruction/education for piano and harp students. She received AMTA "Music Teacher of the Year" award in 2006. String Art is a harp ensemble comprised of Martha's students established in 2010.
